KRA eTIMS integration for Odoo, including stock records, at every branch
In September 2026, KRA directed businesses to keep their stock records in TIMS/eTIMS. We set up eTIMS in Odoo for each branch, bring your stock records into line and train your team to keep them there.
What changes
- Every sales invoice from Odoo reaches eTIMS at the point of sale, at every branch.
- Stock movements are recorded in eTIMS, so what KRA sees matches your warehouse.
- Supplier invoices are checked for eTIMS details before the expense is booked.
- Credit notes and returns go through eTIMS, not around it.
- Your finance team knows how to reconcile eTIMS with Odoo every month.

What’s included
- A readiness review of your invoicing, stock, branches and supplier invoices
- eTIMS (OSCU) setup and testing in Odoo for each branch
- Stock-record setup so stock movements reach eTIMS
- Item and tax code mapping for your product catalogue
- Credit notes and returns issued through eTIMS
- A supplier-invoice check before expenses are booked
- Training for your finance and branch staff
- A written gap report and a go-live checklist

How it runs
Readiness review
We check your invoicing, stock, branches, credit notes and supplier invoices against KRA's eTIMS requirements, and give you a written gap list.
Set up eTIMS in Odoo
We configure eTIMS for each branch, map your items and tax codes, and test every branch before it goes live.
Bring stock records into line
We reconcile opening stock and set up stock movements so eTIMS matches what is actually in your warehouse.
Train and hand over
Finance and branch staff learn the daily routine and the monthly reconciliation. You keep a checklist for opening new branches.

What changed in 2026
Two KRA changes widened what eTIMS compliance means:
- Since 1 January 2026, KRA checks the expenses in your income tax return against eTIMS records. Expenses without a valid eTIMS invoice are at risk of being disallowed.
- In September 2026, KRA directed businesses to keep their stock records, not just their sales invoices, in TIMS/eTIMS.
eTIMS is no longer only about the invoice you hand a customer. It now reaches into purchasing, stock, every branch and month-end.
Where businesses get caught out
- A branch sells without its own eTIMS setup.
- Invoices come from a separate till or a spreadsheet, outside the ERP.
- Credit notes and returns are handled by hand.
- Supplier invoices are booked without checking their eTIMS details.
- Opening stock in the system never matched what was on the shelves.
Any one of these leaves your records out of step with what KRA can see.
Who needs it most
- Distributors, wholesalers and manufacturers that move stock between warehouses, branches and vans every day.
- Multi-branch businesses where each outlet sells and invoices on its own.
- Suppliers to larger companies. Their expense claims are checked against eTIMS, so an invoice of yours that never reached eTIMS can cost you the account.
What the compliance pack covers
- A readiness review. We check invoicing, stock, branches, credit notes and supplier invoices, and write down every gap.
- eTIMS integration in Odoo. eTIMS (OSCU) set up and tested for each branch, with your items and tax codes mapped.
- eTIMS stock records. Opening stock reconciled and stock movements set up to reach eTIMS.
- Training. Your finance and branch staff learn the daily routine and the monthly reconciliation between eTIMS and Odoo.
Why Odoo eTIMS works
Odoo already runs your sales, purchasing, stock and accounting. Connecting eTIMS there gives you one source of truth, instead of a till, a spreadsheet and the KRA portal that never quite agree. When the rules change, you update one system.
Keep it current with an Odoo support retainer, and let back-office automation flag supplier invoices that arrive without eTIMS details.
Check where you stand

Common questions
What did KRA say about stock records in eTIMS?
In September 2026, KRA directed businesses to keep accurate stock records in TIMS/eTIMS, so the stock KRA can see matches what you actually hold. The readiness review shows what this means for your branches and products.
Does KRA check our expenses against eTIMS?
Yes. Since 1 January 2026, KRA checks the income and expenses in income tax returns, from the 2025 year of income, against eTIMS, withholding tax and customs records. Expenses without a valid eTIMS invoice are at risk of being disallowed, so checking supplier invoices before you book them is part of the pack.
Is the pack only for businesses on Odoo?
The pack is built for Odoo. If you run another ERP or POS, the readiness review still applies, and we will tell you honestly whether connecting your current system or moving to Odoo makes more sense.
Do you file our tax returns?
No. eTIMS runs under your own KRA PIN and credentials, and your business stays responsible to KRA. We set up the system and train your team. Filing stays with you and your tax adviser.
How long does eTIMS setup take?
It depends on the number of branches and the state of your stock records. A single branch with clean data is quickest; a multi-branch distributor takes longer. You get a timeline with the readiness review.
What does the eTIMS compliance pack cost?
From KES 250,000 for the readiness review, eTIMS setup per branch, stock-record setup and staff training. Many branches or untidy stock data cost more. We confirm the price in writing before work starts.
What happens when KRA changes the rules again?
Rules do change. Our Odoo support retainer, from KES 35,000 a month, covers statutory changes, so your setup is updated when KRA's requirements move.
