WSO2 API Manager and integration services in Kenya
We design, deploy and hand over WSO2 API Manager and Micro Integrator, so partners and apps reach your core systems through secure, governed, documented APIs instead of one-off connections.
What changes
- Partners and apps call one set of documented APIs instead of a tangle of direct connections.
- Every API call is authenticated, throttled and logged at the gateway.
- Legacy SOAP and core-banking interfaces serve modern apps without being rewritten.
- Partners onboard through a developer portal, with keys and limits you control.
- Your team can run, change and recover the platform from written runbooks.

What’s included
- Discovery of your APIs, consumers, back-end systems and security requirements
- WSO2 API Manager deployed in your data centre or cloud
- OAuth2 and OpenID Connect security, using your identity provider where you have one
- Throttling tiers and subscription policies for each consumer
- A developer portal with OpenAPI documentation and self-service subscription
- WSO2 Micro Integrator flows for orchestration and message transformation
- Connections to core banking, banks with open APIs, payment gateways, mobile money and ERPs
- Logging and monitoring of API traffic
- Runbooks, handover and training for your team
How it runs
Discovery
We map your APIs, who calls them, the systems behind them and your security, availability and regulatory requirements, then agree scope and price.
Design
APIs, security, throttling tiers, message flows and environments are agreed in writing before anything is deployed.
Build and test
We deploy and configure WSO2 in your environments and test with your teams, including expired tokens, throttled callers and back ends that time out.
Go live and hand over
We go live in agreed steps, then hand over runbooks for deployment, monitoring, promotion and recovery, and train the team that will run it.
Why an API platform, not more connections
Every new partner, app or channel tends to arrive with its own direct connection to your systems. Each one has its own credentials, its own error handling and its own person who understands it. After a few years nobody can say who calls what, and every change to the core is a risk.
An API platform reverses that. Your systems are exposed once, through APIs that are secured, documented and monitored in one place. Partners subscribe to what they need. You decide the limits.
What WSO2 API Manager gives you
- Security at the gateway. OAuth2 and OpenID Connect tokens, validated before a request reaches your systems.
- Throttling. Tiers per partner or application, so one busy consumer cannot slow everyone else down.
- A developer portal. OpenAPI documentation, self-service subscription and keys, and approval workflows where you want them.
- Room to monetise. Subscription tiers that can carry commercial terms for external partners.
- Analytics. Who calls which API, how often and with what errors.
What Micro Integrator adds
Your core banking system, payment switch and ERP were not designed to talk to each other. WSO2 Micro Integrator sits between them: it orchestrates multi-step flows such as “post the transfer, notify the app, write the audit record”, transforms SOAP and XML into REST and JSON, and retries failed calls in a controlled way.
How we make it safe
A gateway is only as safe as what sits behind it. We give each audience its own API and credentials. Back-end services verify the gateway’s signed token instead of trusting a header. Internal and administrative routes are never published. And we write down every decision, because the team that runs the platform in two years may not be the team that built it.
Where it fits
WSO2 integration is often the base for other work: fraud and AML monitoring that needs transactions from every channel, mobile money and payments, or an Odoo ERP that has to exchange data with a bank or a partner.
Start with discovery
Tell us which systems need to connect and who will call them. We reply with the questions that decide scope and cost, then agree a discovery phase with your team.
Common questions
What is the difference between WSO2 API Manager and Micro Integrator?
API Manager is the front door: it secures, throttles, documents and publishes your APIs, and runs the developer portal. Micro Integrator works behind it: it orchestrates multi-step flows, transforms messages between formats such as SOAP and REST, and connects to back-end systems. Most organisations need both.
Can you integrate with our core banking system?
Yes, through the interfaces your core banking system exposes, agreed with your vendor and your IT team. We follow your change process and do not modify the core itself.
Can WSO2 sit in front of a payment gateway?
Yes. We have published a payment gateway's APIs through WSO2 API Manager, with a separate API for each audience so each can be secured and rate-limited on its own, and documented the setup in runbooks.
Where does the platform run?
In your data centre or your own cloud account. Regulated institutions usually keep it on their own infrastructure, so data stays where their policies require. We plan high availability and backups with your infrastructure team.
Do we need a WSO2 subscription?
Licensing and support subscriptions are agreed between you and WSO2. We explain the options during discovery so you can decide what level of vendor support you need. The platform we build, and its configuration, are yours.
How much does a WSO2 integration cost?
It depends on the number of APIs and back-end systems, the environments you need and your availability requirements, so we price after a discovery phase. You get a written scope and price before work starts.
Planning an API or integration programme?
Tell us which systems need to talk and who will call your APIs. We scope WSO2 integration work with your own IT team, starting with a discovery phase.
